Yesterday afternoon we took a day trip to Coeur d'Alene.  This is a picture of us from the boardwalk right on the lake.  I had never been there before and I was impressed by how beautiful the lake and town were.  We went to dinner at a Brazilian BBQ place that remined us of the restaurant we ate at for Ali and Brett's wedding.  Then we got to stop and visit with one of Aaron's mission companions and his family that live there in Cour d'Alene.

The whole reason for our trip was to go to Scarywood!  The theme park, Silverwood, converts into a haunted Halloween town during October.  We, along with 5,000 other crazies, enjoyed the haunted houses, the Mind Warp  hall of mirrors and doors, the spooky Halloween atmosphere, and the Zombie Train!  Luckily, I convinced Aaron that it would have been too darn cold to ride the rollercoasters.  I've been to lots of haunted houses, including the Haunted Mill near Rexburg that I was always impressed with, but Scarywood was much more impressive.  They sure invested lots of money; Aaron and I were impressed with the whole production.  It seemed that every few feet there was something jumping out of the shadows.  Aaron got a good laugh following behind me because I ducked and dived and ran through some parts to avoid all the spookie stuff!

The mind warp was a maze of door ways and mirrors that all looked the same.  The exit was located at the end of a neon spinning tunnel with a bridge over it.  Half way across the bridge, we noticed that we were leaning sideways into the guard rail as we walked.  Aaron was laughing harder than I've ever heard him laugh.  For about a half hour after we left he kept laughing about it.

Freezing our tails off on the Zombie Train
It got down to 34 degrees while we were there!  It was a fun night, but the lines got longer and longer as the night went on.  We were there from 7pm until Midnight. On our drive home (1:45 minute drive), it was really foggy.  Aaron kept noticing dark spots in the side lines.  He thought it was because there was an animal there covering up the paint and so he would slow down only to realize after about the third time that there was a dark spot because there was no paint. They were driveways.  Needless to say it was a late night!
