It's September again. Which means for our family its time for Aaron to go hunting. Aaron didn't have any luck drawing an elk or moose tag that he was hoping for so he and his dad went archery hunting in the Soda Springs area. Aaron had a good time and felt they had a successful trip even though they didn't bring anything home. They were "in elk" everyday and bugled in 14 different elk during the week long trip. I guess that's why they call it hunting, not killing! Apparently Aaron and his dad had a few real nice bulls that they were able to get set up on and for one reason or another it didn't work out for them.
Aaron said that on the last day of the hunt, a hunter was bugling with Aaron, thinking he was an elk! Joke was on him! Here's the story in Aaron's words:
"I was learning how to use a diaphragm elk call that morning after the morning hunt. I decided to try a a loud bull elk bugle and according my dad it sounded like a "Barnyard Elk" We both laughed at how bad it sounded as they knew the hunt was finally drawing to a close. The hunter finally caught up to usand didn't seem too impressed to be duped by these two crazy hunters as he had been chasing them that morning. I still couldn't believe I actually called that guy in!"

Every year Aaron the boys hunt in this same area. Two years ago I got to go and Aaron carved our initials on a tree. Here's our tree 2 years later. (Maybe someday is will be bigger):
Better Luck next year boys!
