Bridal Shower

Last Weekend was a whirlwind!  We took a roadtrip down to Gooding to go through the temple with my youngest sister, Drew, before she gets married in a few weeks.  Being in the temple with my family, and especially with my sisters, was a special and memorable experience.  I'm so excited to be able to be with them again soon for Drew's sealing!

The following day Drew's best friend, Hannah, threw her an amazing bridal shower in Gooding.  She had lots of help from both her mom and my mom, and everything turned out amazing!

We had a delicious waffle & juice bar
(and for all those who asked, I've written out the
waffle & buttermilk syrup recipes at the bottom of this post.)

We were so excited for the party to start!

  "Date Jar"
We asked the guests to write down some fun date ideas for Will & Drew.
The funniest was my mom's entry "GO CHECK THE HAY."

And what would a bridal shower be without games?
For our first game we asked everyone to annonymously submit a memory of Drew.

Drew read the memories aloud and had to guess who submitted each one.  There was a good mix of memories, from funny & embarrassing to sweet & tear-filled.

Next we played "He Said She Said"
Planning an upcoming bridal shower?
You can make your own copy of the game here in my Etsy shop.
Everybody got a copy of these facts about Will & Drew.  They had to guess whether it was Will or Drew that said each one.

The funny part is that they BOTH answered that they were
the one to go in for the first kiss!

We also played a matching game to see how well everyone knew their Chick Flicks.

What a fun group of women!

Then of course Drew opened a mountain of wonderful gifts for her future kitchen... and bedroom ;)

Everyone got to take home some wedding themed coasters as a
"thank you for supporting my little sister" gift.

BUTTERMILK SYRUP:
emmylou baird

1 cube butter
1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1/2 cup regular milk + 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp karo syrup
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda

Combine butter, syrup, buttermilk, and sugar in a saucepan.  Bring this mixture just barely to a boil.  Remove from heat.  Add vanilla and baking soda.  Syrup will bubble up, doubling in size, so don't make it in too small of a pan!
