the Moose Cabin

Aaron has been studying his brains out for his upcoming PE Exam.  He's been spending his Friday & Saturdays taking practice tests at work.  So we were excited to break him away and spend a weekend at the cabin!  Aaron was excited to take the girls on their first fishing trip.  They hated the life jackets, but loved catching a fish, (with mom's help of course!)

We played lots of fun games like:
Dress-Up in Grandma's Aprons
Catch the Bunny
and Feast or Famine

Since none of us had played this game in a while, we read the rules to refresh our memory.  And it turns out we had been playing incorrectly!  So I guess it pays to re-read the rules every now and then!

We got done cooking up some yummy food in the dutch ovens when Aaron and Grandpa spotted a moose!  So of course Aaron had to try out his moose call.  I wasn't expecting much since the moose was so far away that I could barely see him with the binoculars.  But pretty soon he was heading our way!

I was amazed that the moose came right up to the fence.  But he didn't stop there!  He was looking for that cow moose he heard and jumped right over the fence!

So since he was already there, we asked him to pose for a photo with his great-great grandpa moose.  Then he hopped the fence to Star's cabin and away he went!

And we had to sneak over to Star's cabin before we left and try out Grandpa Lewis' swing!
