Aaron was excited about his recent axe purchase, he says it makes him feel like a man...
The view from our campsite. My friend Cami often camps here so she recommended it. We loved it- it seemed very private, there were only a few campsites anywhere near us, and this little lake was so pretty to look out on. When we first started setting up camp we got a few raindrops and heard some thunder, but no storm :) The weather was just perfect for a campout - about 75
So, just to set the record straight, we are comfort campers. That means we roll out the air mattress - no need to sleep with rocks in our backs to get the "camping" experience! So I unrolled the mattress and got out our pump just to find that the back piece of it was missing. No connection for our batteries. No on/off switch. So my amazing husband had to rig up his own solution using our stakes. You can tell he was NOT going to sleep with rocks in his back, haha!
Preparing dinner - we had pizza pockets! Thanks to Becca & all the Shumways, we got these neat camp cookers for our wedding that make sandwinches over the fire. We put pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings in between our bread & they turned out great! Much better than a bland and half-burned tin foil dinner!
This is the beautiful view we woke up to :) I lifted my sleepy head to see how light it was outside & I just had to grab my camera. But as always, pictures never do justice.
Just waking up!
