the NURSERY

Well, since I'm finally done working, I've had time this past month to finally get our baby room in order.  Formerly known as "the office,"  it has become our cute little twin nursery.  Here's a few of the projects that have been keeping me busy lately:

Organizing all our baby clothes into plastic drawers:

Aaron being the Engineer that he is made this changing table drawing with his free time at work and then actually constructed it when we visited his family during Christmas vacation to go right on top of our existing bookcase.  One of the shelves is still stocked with books, the other with diaper, wipes, and other changing essentials:

Only an engineer would draw up official plans for a changing table.  He was a bit excited for this project as you  can tell!

We received two matching homemade crib blankets from Aaron's mom - aren't they cute!  We have one hanging on each crib for now.  I have sheets on the cribs, but I still haven't gotten to making the crib skirts I have in mind.  We'll see if that project gets finished before the twins make their arrival...

And of course I can't leave out Bubba.  I got this giant teddy bear for Christmas when I was 3.  I'm honestly amazed that he has survived for so long!  But I'm glad that now my daughters can have lots of fun cuddling with him:

Baby mobiles!  These were fun to make - Aaron kept saying, "How many butterflies are you putting on those things?"  But I love how they turned out.  Hopefully the girls have fun looking up at them:

This map has been hanging on the wall here for more than a year.  I figured rather than take it down, lets just use it as nursery decor :)  So my handy dandy husband made this frame out of a free pallet.  We had stain on hand, so the only expense were the nails we had to buy.  Nothing beats almost free :)

Have you heard of Other Mothers?  If you haven't been there, you need to go!  Its a 2nd hand shop in Boise for all things pregnancy to toddler.  We've found some great steals there - Our babywise book, one of our swings, a twin boppy, and this awesome glider:

Of course, it needed a few updates.  Aaron helped me sand it down and re-stain the wood to be a little darker, and I re-covered the cushions with some updated fabric.  I love how it turned out!

.

Kyndra was nice enough to pass on to us Brody' s old car seat.  I wish I had a photo of the before.  It was in good condition,  but it definitely looked like it belonged to a boy.  It had Brown,  blue,  and green stripes.  So I did my best to update it for one of our little girls. Our other car seat was given to us from Josh and Emmylou. We have been so blessed!

I used brown and cream minky fabric that I had on hand.   Originally I had another plan,  but it didn't turn out, so this was my last ditch effort to save the car seat!

I love how the covers turned out!  Aaron actually picked out the whale fabric. I thought it looked boyish,  so I added some pink Chevron to the bottom so people wouldn't ask about my baby boys! The reverse side has the same cream minky fabric as the inside of Brody's old car seat.  And Aaron insisted that I put different color bows on the outside so that we can tell who is in each seat.

For those of you that are wondering how big I'm getting, here's my answer: BIG
As of Feb. 3rd, my tummy was a 47 and the last ultrasound shows that the babies are somewhere around 6 to 6 -1/2 pounds each.  That's like 13 pounds of baby!  The good news is that the doctor says they will induce me somewhere around February 21st.  So two more weeks at the most.  We'll see if I make it!
