CHRISTMAS VACATION

We were so excited for this year's Christmas vacation!  I put in my last day of work on Friday, and that afternoon we headed to Southern Idaho for about a 10-day vacation.  It was so nice to finally be able to relax - no worries about work or craft fairs or young men and young womens - it was so nice!

We spent about 4-5 days with my family in Gooding.  My mom and sister, Casey, threw a little baby shower that was so fun!  It was great to see some of the women from my home ward that I had grown up around and hear their advice.  Luckily one of them has twin boys that are about a year old, and another has 2 sets of twin grandkids.  It was nice to finally hear from someone with experience with twins!

My mom had us playing all sorts of fun games.  In this one, we had to draw what was described to us on a paper plate on our heads.  My mom read step by step instructions describing a nursery with a crib a dresser, baby toys, etc.  After she finished, we got to look at our sad little drawings, and we got points if the crib actually touched the floor, it the baby was actually in the crib, etc.

After a few fun games and some yummy food (which I forgot to take a photo of), we got completely spoiled with some wonderful baby gifts that I'm so excited to use!

Aaron was our camera man taking pictures of everything.  After all the gifts were open and the ladies were preparing to leave, Aaron laid all the gifts out to take a photo of them all.  All the ladies thought he was just the sweetest husband ever.  They ooh-ed and aww-ed over him while he was laying everything out.  "Oh, he's going to be such a great dad," "Just look how excited he is."  Their comments just made me laugh.  While it's true, I know he'll be a great dad, I knew in the back of my mind that he was taking photos so I would post them on the blog.  He is always encouraging me to post things on here to keep his family in the loop.  So I had a pretty good laugh at the ladies that thought he was just the sweetest husband ever.
Sweet, yes.  Slave driver making me do the blog?  That too :)

Here's a run-down of some of the neat gifts we received:
1.  "Smashbook" baby book from my sister, Casey.  Its a book already put together with cute scrapbook paper that you just have to add photos, cards, fabric swatches, doctor bills (ha!) etc.  I've had fun getting started on their book already :)
2.  A baby carrier from my mom.  Yes I've already tried it on :)
3.  Cute sparkle shoes with matching dresses.  The dresses didn't make the photo but they're also silver and glittery
4. This adorable petunia picklebottom diaper bag is from my sister, Ali.  It's amazing.  Right now I have it packed for the hospital with stuff for the babies.  It also has straps to convert and wear it like a backpack for when my hands and arms are full!
5.  Homemade swaddle blankets.  Kaylynn Cheney never ceases to amaze me.
6. Lots of adorable outfits!  Love them!

We feel so blessed for all the things we have received.  We also got completely spoiled by Aaron's family over Thanksgiving, but somehow those photos have all disappeared..... Anyone have some on their phones they want to send me?

Also, I guess we must have gotten pretty lazy over the rest of our holiday, because we didn't take hardly any more photos of our Southern Idaho vacation.  But we had a great time playing with all of Aaron's nieces and nephews.  I can't wait to add two more to the bunch!
