At the beginning of September, we took a few fun hikes with the girls. We both felt a need to start being more active and going out with the twins. Lots of times I use the excuse, "... that would be too hard to do with twins..." when the reality is that it isn't too hard, it just takes some planning!
So we went to check out Elk River Falls. The hike to the closest viewpoint was about 2 miles, so we chose that one. The girls absolutely loved the hike! Lots of it was downhill, and since we had them strapped into baby carriers, they felt like we were bouncing them. They giggled and laughed the whole way down!
I asked Aaron to stand there with one of the babies so I could get the camera set up and take a few practice shots. Kind of by accident, I got a bunch of photos of Elaina grabbing her dad's beard - She wasn't sure what to think of it...
The following weekend was Labor Day. Since Aaron ended up having Friday -Monday off, we decided to drive north and check out Lake Pond Oreille and Sandpoint, Idaho. And we learned it's pronounced "Lake Pond O-Ray." Go figure.
We love visiting Coeur d'Alene, and we felt Sandpoint was very similar. They both have fun beaches right near the city centers where you can check out the lakes. So we took a walk around and dipped the girls' toes in. No tears this time like when we dipped their toes in Lake CDA!
Aaron's 1st time visiting the Statue of Liberty:

Later on that day, we took a hike on another part of the Lake. It was beautiful! I wish we could have hiked further, but the girls were getting fussy and Aaron started feeling a little sick to his stomach. So he headed back to the truck with Maria, and Laney and I continued on a little further. Come to find out, while Aaron was back at the truck he saw every vehicle but one leave. So he started getting paranoid that the driver was going to find and kill us, so he took down the license plate number. Obviously we watch too many crime shows on tv!
