from the north

Well about a week ago Aaron and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary ~ woohoo ~  I think we both agree that it seems like it's been longer!  We've had lots of good times this year and we feel pretty settled here in Genesee.  I'm grateful to have lots of good friends around that keep me sane! 

To celebrate our anniversary we went to Coeur d'Alene for the weekend, I just love it there!  Being married to an engineer, we can't go on a vacation without a visit to a bridge or dam, so we decided to check out Post Falls.  There's a dam which sits on the Spokane River, just upstream from the Idaho/Washington border at the mouth of a narrow gorge.  Aaron was impressed by the power of the flow of water.

 

After the falls, we checked out cabellas and made long wish lists.  Then we went and got massages at a day spa -- neither of us had gotten a massage before, so that was a very relaxing treat.  We also took a hike up Tubbs Hill and dipped our feet in the Coeur d'Alene lake.

 

  It sure is beautiful up there!
